Tango Networks, a leader in Mobile Network integration is announcing the integration with Google Voice[1] as part of the Abrazo™ Multi-line Service enabling any mobile phone to support more than one phone number.
With Google Voice integration, the Multi-line service enables mobile consumers to “Bring their own Google Voice Number” to a participating mobile carrier and add the Google Voice number to their mobile subscription. As a cloud-based service, the solution works with all mobile phones with no software to download, install and manage on the device.
Once the Abrazo Multi-Line service is activated, subscribers can make or receive calls using either their mobile number or their Google Voice number. Incoming calls to their mobile number or Google Voice number ring all devices in the subscriber’s Google Voice forwarding list (including their mobile, home and/or other numbers in their forwarding list).
Unlike other services that require the user to permanently select either their mobile number or the Google Voice number for all outgoing calls, Abrazo Multi-line service with Google Voice integration instead enables the subscriber to keep both numbers. Outgoing calls from the subscriber’s mobile phone can be set to display the Caller ID of either the mobile number or the Google Voice number – and can be switched at anytime by the user, including on a per-call basis.
In addition, Abrazo Multi-line subscribers benefit from a single voicemail box for both phone lines with true Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) for messages left on either line.
Multi-line subscribers can also enable international long distance calls from their mobile phone to route through Google Voice in order to benefit from free calls in US/Canada[2] as well as low rates to other countries such as China or India for 2¢ per minute[3] with no connection fees.
Mobile carriers can now easily offer a second line mobile service that works with all mobile phones, not just select smartphones, and without the need to manage the second number series. Instead customers bring their own Google Voice number and can provision it themselves.
“The Tango Networks Multi-line service now with Google Voice integration opens the doors for mobile carriers to offer Google Voice as a premium service on all their mobile phones.”, stated Alastair Westgarth, President and CEO of Tango Networks. “Adding sticky services such as Multi-line with Google Voice integration attract and retain customers thereby reducing mobile churn.”
Abrazo Multi-line service with Google Voice integration is entering trials with North American mobile operators targeted for launch in 2012.
